I believe that the poster is within the guidelines of the fair use copyright law. The poster is and should be considered an original work of Fairey's because of the dramatic change. You could not mistake the news photography of Obama for the artistic rendering of Obama. The only recognizable similarity between the two pieces is the position and tilt of Obama's head.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3539786861438251288.post-88698247129017683312011-03-15T00:20:00.001-07:002011-03-15T00:20:17.949-07:00Cockamamie Current Event

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3539786861438251288.post-46279003092112783542011-02-28T22:46:00.000-08:002011-02-28T22:47:30.349-08:00Reaction to TED Copyright TalkThe line between copyright infringement and creating a new expression or a new work entirely is a thin one, as Larry Lessig describes it. I have to agree with his statement. With the world becoming more and more mainstream and instant everyday, there becomes newer and further advanced tools to aid in the editing and reworking of various forms of digital media. If someone takes a song and places it with a different scenario, should they be punished? If someone takes photographs and edits them to mean something new, should they have to take them off the internet? I think that as long as the work is made into something new, something that the "artist" could call their own, the work becomes their expression. But, placing a video on Youtube and selling copies of the work are different circumstances. I don't think it is okay for corporations to make money off of simply edited pieces. But on the other hand, the rules of the sites that the "artists" place their work, have lines about the usage of the material found on the site.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3539786861438251288.post-17545474762050745682011-02-28T20:12:00.000-08:002011-02-28T20:13:00.879-08:00Web Composite
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZN54hnTJvwSyItcq-K3y-JGaaclcXrQb4o_CF0JHUlUTQYdCv3Ax2f7pTeZhABlHMPD4v2TmaY9O7ecCaDwmt2ZH8U_gR6FTgVvlSV10_ayDhH_y6n07wDXSQr0Jh3zBZqPquivI4PnY/

It started out when one of my friends asked if I wanted to go with her to South Street to get her tattoo. I obediently brought my camera and started out on my first adventure. While on South Street, I was drawn to how the buildings looked. New buildings, old buildings, clean buildings, dilapidated buildings - they were all there and standing right along side of one another. When we arrived at Moo Tattoo, my friend got the words "soul meets body" tattoo under her shoulder.

The next day, I went to Center City to buy some art supplies that I still needed. I was still interested in the buildings. The wind was utterly cold, so after taking a few pictures, my hands were too numb, so I had to take a break. After heading to Dick Blick and Starbucks, we went back to the dorms.
